We were looking forward to replacing our old Whirlpool that was falling apert with a new one. We had 48 hours to test it and see if we wanted to return it. I used the 30 second button to warm a cup of coffee, it worked fine. Then I placed one potato in the new microwave oven and pushed the “potato” button at the top of the button menu. Walked away and a little while later the oven was making a strange sound when I looked through the glass door the potato was in flames. I shut off the oven and waited for the flames to stop and took the potato out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased as a direct replacement for 10 year old whirlpool. This is not the same quality as the original. Thinner metal makes it sound “cheap” when opening and closing the door. Less programming options such as choice of sounds. When companies have to cut corners AND raise prices, only the customer looses. I had to order and return 3 of these to get one that was not dented on the front panel although there was no damage to the outer box. Very inconvenient. Retailers don’t stock or display models like this so what you end up getting is a surprise.
