Before I got this Tribest Sedona Combo Dehydrator, I used to do the preserving of my excess fruits using the oven at “Keep Warm” setting which is about 165° Fahrenheit.
Now that I have this Sedona Combo Dehydrator, which does a good job, I can give a break to the oven.
Dehydrated food will not look or taste like the original; it is just for preserving. Rehydrating will bring back the look, texture and taste to a certain extent.
One advantage of this machine is that it has 2 fans a separator in the middle, so that it can do small half batches, with 4 trays each by turning on only half the machine.
The air intake and exhaust works pretty well, so the dehydration works almost even.
I was planning to make some beef jerky, but i did not see any mention about it in the manual. It mentions about making turkey Jerky with cooked turkey only.
Overall, the machine works well for people who love to preserve food in a dehydrated method.

I have only used it twice so far and it seems to operate well. The machine is large and has 9 very nice mesh trays plus an additional tray for making fruit leather, etc. It also comes with additional liners for the drying trays. The quality of the trays is excellent, but they cannot be washed in a dishwasher which doesn’t bother me. The machine does give off considerable heat when operating, so using it in the summer will heat the kitchen up. A really nice feature is that you can use just half of the machine if you only want to do 3 or 4 trays and it only uses 300 watts rather than 600. One thing that really needs improved is the recipe book which is terrible. There are only 9 recipes. So far I have experimented with zucchini chips, beet chips and dehydrated marshmallow (don’t laugh they are great!) The drying time in the operating manual is pretty accurate but I think the temperatures are too low. So far, I am giving it an good rating.
