This is one of the better toasters I have had in some time. Having purchased many products under the Kenmore brand i know I am getting my money’s worth.

I bought this toaster to replace my almost 20 years old toaster which had become unreliable. This is the THIRD toaster I bought to replace it and I’m happy to say, the last as this one WORKS! It came shipped in a box just barely larger than the manufacturer’s box. In the manufacturer’s box, the toaster was protected by Styrofoam and some extra paper, so arrived with no damage. It is made in China and has a 2-year warranty. On the 3.5 setting, it toasts to a medium golden brown – the first time; I don’t have to toast repeatedly at the highest setting for it work, although it sometimes only toasts on one side of the bread. There must be some setting I’m not seeing. I didn’t notice any smell upon opening the box nor any of the times toasting my bread(s). The slots are wide enough for muffins and close in when you use regular bread. When done, the bread is popped up high enough to grab without burning your fingers, but if you need it to come up higher, you can push/lift the handle higher to lift the toast a little higher. This is my only complaint: it doesn’t push/lift up as easily as I think it should. Your instinct is to put your right thumb on the top of the toaster while using the rest of your hand to push/lift the handle up and if you do that: ouch! – you burn your thumb, so watch out for that; put your thumb to the side of the toaster instead. The cord is comfortably long, but if too long for your purposes, it can be coiled under the bottom of the toaster and held in place using the tabs underneath. The plug itself has a built-in tab that can grab the cord but also makes it easier to grip to plug and unplug the toaster. Kenmore has always been a reliable brand; I grew up with Kenmore and why I thought I’d save money by buying a cheaper brand is beyond me.
