I’ll start by acknowledging what other reviewers have already stated: the water stains inside the kettle are unsightly and hard to get rid of. And although I washed my kettle (per the included instructions) before use, I too, experienced a funky plastic-like smell that lingered for a few uses. The instruction manual states that even though the water may smell plastic-like, it’s fine to use. I beg to differ. The smell seems to become infused in the water and makes everything taste off.
With the negatives acknowledged, I will say this: this electric kettle is suh-weet to look at!
When the water boils and that pretty, pretty blue light comes on, I feel like I’m in an enchanted place where magic exists. Translation: it’s nice to look at on cold and dreary days.
It seems to bring water to a boil fairly quickly as well, though this is my first electric kettle, so I have nothing to compare it to. It’s decidedly faster than my stove-top!
