The Hamilton Beach Professional 5-speed hand mixer runs slow enough at the first speed setting to mix an angel food cake mix without slinging the flour all over the kitchen. I’m not sure about the power needed for other mixes, but the main reason I bought this one was for the slow speed, AND IT WORKS! The Snap-On storage case is an added benefit.
I bought this for a Christmas present for my wife, and she loves it.
