Whether you’re cooking dinner for a hungry family or breakfast for a crowd, the Proctor Silex Electric Griddle will help you get the job done faster with 200 sq. in. of nonstick cooking surface. The nonstick surface is easy to wipe clean, and the griddle is fully immersible with the cord removed. Whether you’re frying eggs and bacon, cooking hamburgers, or toasting buns, you can easily adjust the temperature on the electric griddle from 200-400F with the turn of the dial. The built-in handles make it easy to move the large electric griddle. The handles remain cool to the touch while you’re cooking on the griddle. The tray is simple to remove to clean and is dishwasher safe. You never have to guess when the griddle has reached the desired temperature. The indicator light goes out when the set temperature is reached, so you know it’s time to start cooking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We tried out this new electric griddle this morning making French Toast.
It heats very evenly, and works great! We’re looking forward to trying it with other food on rainy days when cooking outdoors on a grill is no fun.
My only caution, is that the control unit on ours meets decent resistance when you plug it in to the griddle. On our first attempt, everything was heating, but I smelled something like melting plastic or an electrical fire. At first I thought it was the “new” smell burning off, but then I noticed some smoke coming from the port where the controller plugs in. After a bit of investigating, it appears that the problem was that the controller wasn’t plugged in as firmly as it could have been. Be sure that it’s all the way to the stop.
Our only other thought, is that this griddle has very low guards on the edges. So it’s easy to get a spatula under something (in this case French Toast), but it’s also easy to slide things over the edge.
Overall, if you’re looking for a larger griddle, this should be on your list of ones to consider.
