The 3900B Deluxe Dehydrator by Excalibur comes with 9 trays and a total of 15 sq. ft. of drying space. The adjustable thermostat temperature control ranges from 95 to 155°F, making it safe to dehydrate meat for jerky. The fan, heating element and thermostat are in the back of the unit, so cool air is drawn in, heated and then distributed evenly over each tray. This patented Parallex Horizontal Airflow is exclusive to Excalibur and helps the food dehydrate faster, retain more nutrients and look and taste better all without manual tray rotation. Since 1973, Excalibur has been made in Sacramento, California. Over the years, Excalibur has taken the lead in advancements related to the mechanics of dehydration including air flow, heating dynamics and materials.

I bought this unit after reading a multitude of reviews on dehydrators. Bottom line according to the reviews THIS IS IT! (unless you want a timer then choose the 3900T) The only difference is the T has a timer built in, this one comes with a GREAT recipe book. Love the fact that it is USA made. The warranty is OUTSTANDING. and the unit works superbly. Very easy clean up as well. Now my unit has been running NON STOP for 2 weeks now. I’ve dehydrated bananas, apples, grapes, blueberries, plantain, squash, mango & papaya to PERFECTION. Next up BEEF JERKY! Sure there are less expensive units out there but this one is a workhorse but don’t short change yourself. . When you look at dehydrating videos, most times they are using an Excalibur…Now I know why. DO ahead PULL THE TRIGGER!

The first thing I made was raw carrot/beet crackers using pulp from juicing. Then onions, apples, pears, pineapple, beets, tomatoes, lemons, oranges, bananas and carrots. They all taste great. I am now working on mango and herbs (from the garden). I can’t wait to make raw vegan pizza! I am very happy with my purchase. My only regret is not buying this sooner.

I am writing this to get the attention of excalibur and will change review depending upon customer service. I recieved a damaged unit upon arrival. I am so sad as I have wanted this for YEARS. I even bought food in my fridge to be ready to dehydrate when machine arrives. I purchased on October 14. Arrived October 21st. Product 3900 B 9 Tray. See attached photo. I paid for a new unit not a damaged one. Thanks. Please help.
