I use due care but have been burned three times in the last two weeks while adjusting the temperature or turning the heat off. The temperature dial is TOO CLOSE to the very hot bowl. Burns are not only painful but can cause one to jump, possibly overturning a wok-full of hot food and oil. Adding a simple guard to protect fingers would make this a 5-star wok,
I have even used it to cook pancakes. I could never get a modern consumer gas oven to heat my old wok hot enough.

This electric wok works great. Better than the non electric one we used with our propane stove top. It’s lighter and easy to clean.
